A poem for my clients...
Updated: Sep 14, 2021

I recently worked with a client that inspired my creative side. His positivity and determination was very contagious, and I wrote the following poem before I left his driveway. Throughout my years as an occupational therapist, I've seen one constant for people that get better - A POSITIVE ATTITUDE.
I always come back to the old saying, "If you believe it, you will achieve it?" And, I have yet to be disproven. The clients that focus on positivity, believe in their recovery, and give it their best, always make a better recovery. So, keep up the good work, and keep dedicated to your recovery and positivity. Make it a good day on purpose!

A Hemiplegia Poem
I once had two but now I’ve one
And doing things is much less fun
My daily tasks are thrice as hard
Like dressing, bathing, or playing cards
I keep my head held to the sky
No tear shall fall beneath my eye
My life has changed but I am jolly
Dedication is not a folly
Repetition, repetition, that’s what I hear
Consistency is what I hold dear
For sacrificing time will bring me this
One will be two and life will be bliss
